I wanted to have a little fun with this section, but as I began transcribing some of the stories, I realized that "ghosts or spirits" were taken very seriously back in our ancestors day. Not just the fear of them, but the "cure." Ready to do battle with clubs and revolvers, not only the neighbors, but police and reporters got involved in the investigations. Do spirits exsist? There's a lot of history in and around Brooklyn, immigration, young life cycle, the Revolution, Prison ships, diseases, not to forget murders. Surely, there is energy that remains.. Just as I believe there is one in every bloodline, destined to be the keeper of the bones, whose job it is, is to connect the lost and forgotten with the present, I believe there are those who are destined to connect to this energy left behind. Maybe, just maybe, if we are lucky enough, we might be open enough for some poor soul to show themselves to us and find a way home to where they belong.
