Friday, July 11, 1919, who died July 11, 1918 with Co. A. 9th U. S. Infantry.
He enlisted May 1, 1919(?looks like typo ?)
The World War of nineteen-seventeen
Brought sorrow and heartaches unseen;
The mother and sweetheart of each brave lad,
Is left here alone, weary and sad

I watched and hoped and prayed each day,
For my dear boy, though far away,
But all my prayers were in vain,
For I'll ne'er see his earthly face again.

Some day, some place, perhaps we'll meet
And live the lives we planned;
Then all the things will be sweet
When he greets me in that foreign land

My love for him will never die,
But day by day it grows,
'Till at last it seems to reach the sky,
To let the whole world know.

He was my pal and dearest friend,
I loved him more than life,
But God sees best and knoweth best,
So I'll just love him to the end.

FIRST OFFICER ROBINSON SUICIDE OFF SHIP IN BAY:
     The body of the man found in Gravesend Bay, Thursday, was identified
yesterday as James R. ROBINSON, 53, First Officer of the Steamship Wisconsin
Bridge, of the French-American Line. Capt. Charles E. BRENNAN of the ship,
identified the body at Kings County Morgue.
     Capt. BRENNAN said Robinson either fell or jumped from the ship while
it was lying in Gravesend Bay, off the foot of 25th Ave. He was seen in the
water and a rope was thrown to him, but he did not make any attempt to reach
for it, to the opinion of the captain.
     Believing the body may have been that of Henry W. MOECK, of 117 Watson
Ave., Newark, his wife went to the morgue yesterday afternoon to try to
identify it. She told the Brooklyn police her husband left home Monday in
an automobile and that nothing had been heard of him since.
